DESCRIPTION

Hurry! This contest is limited to the first 50 qualified bloggers to register, so go and register right now.
When you register, you will be asked to select one of CFE's saltfish products. You will be sent 3 bags of the product. Create appetizer or entrée recipes using the products (you are encouraged to do both), photograph both the dish and the product, and blog about them. You must include the CFE social media links and store locations (provided) on your blog post. Also, post your recipe and photos to at least Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram (more platforms are encouraged) with the hashtags #saltfish and #bacalao, along with the hashtag of the specific product you chose. Submit links to all posts to the sponsor by April 30, 2017.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the 48 contiguous United States and DC, as well as legal residents of the islands of Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Trinidad, Tobago and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Submit a your plans for a baking lesson or a baking community service program or adult or teen leader skill training. Baking community service program may include “Bake for Family Fun” month, Bake and Take Day, bake sales or community service baking programs. The focus of your entry must be baking education and its interdisciplinary benefits to young people.
Your entry should include a 1 page summary and supporting information for the 5 judging criteria: Baking Emphasis/Execution and Interdisciplinary Skills; Creativity; Pre-Evaluation/Testing; Post-Evaluation/Testing; and Community Service.

We think this is for United States only. 2017 HEALTHY KIDS COOK-OFF

DEADLINE

March 31, 2017 10pm ET

DESCRIPTION

Enter a recipe that is either an Original Creation (you totally made it up) or a Healthy Recipe Makeover (you made a traditionally unhealthy recipe better). The recipe must contain at least two vegetables and should have no more than a minimal amount of sugar, if you use it at all. You must be able to completely make the recipe in 60 minutes or less.
This contest is divided into 3 categories Pre K (Parent & Me); Elementary School; and Middle School. Four finalists from each category will compete in the LIVE Healthy Kids Cook-Off National Competition on May 6, 2017 in Columbia, Maryland. Pre K cook with their parent at the competition.

ELIGIBILITY

Residency in the United States is implied. Child should be in PreK - Middle school. The entry form includes a section for parental permission.

2017 CALIFORNIA STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL BERRY BLAST OFF RECIPE CONTEST

DESCRIPTION

Enter your original recipe of any type that features the use of strawberries without baking in the preparation (use of grill, fryer, stove-top permitted). Use fresh ingredients as much as possible. The recipe must serve five and must be able to be prepared and presented within 60 minutes.
Five semi-finalists will participate in a cook-off on May 9, 2017 in Oxnard, CA; two finalists will go on to compete May 20 in a final event in Oxnard.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to all, but transportation to events and prizes is not provided.

2017 RECIPE CATTLE CALL CONTEST – 1

2017 GREAT GARLIC COOK-OFF

DEADLINE

May 1, 2017

DESCRIPTION

Enter a recipe that specifies the use of at least 6 cloves of fresh garlic, or the equivalent packaged form (three teaspoons minced or chopped). Keep the title of your recipe under 10 words, and include a photo with the entry. This is a contest where elaborate, multi-part dishes — and even a side dish — seem to be welcomed, as long as you can meet the time limits!
If you are one of the 8 Finalists chosen to participate in the Cook-off on July 29, 2017, you will be expected to prepare seven separate plates, all within a maximum of two hours. Five plates will be for the judges, one plate for the emcees, and one plate will be used for presentation to the judges and for media purposes.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC who are age 21 or older. Previous first, second, and third prize winners are not eligible to enter again for three full years after winning. If you have received payment for services related to food, including TV appearances, you are not eligible to enter.

PRIZES

First Prize: $5,000.

Finalist Lodging & Travel Reimbursement: Finalists traveling over 100 miles will be provided with hotel accommodations, one room for two nights in Gilroy. DOOR COUNTY COFFEE 4TH ANNUAL RECIPE CONTEST

DESCRIPTION

Submit any type of recipe made with Door County Coffee. Ground coffee, brewed coffee, flavored coffee or non-flavored coffee — any way that you use Door County Coffee as an ingredient in a recipe qualifies. A short statement about what makes your recipe wonderful is optional, as is a photo (but photos are appreciated so much they get you into a drawing for a extra prize).
This contest is a 2017 World Food Championships Preferred Qualifier.

ELIGIBILITY

No restrictions are given.

PRIZES

First Prize: A 1-Year Door County Coffee Supply of winner's choice including Full-pot Bags, Single Serve Cups or 10oz bags, plus two Door County Coffee Stoneware Mugs, two Door County Coffee Stainless Steel Travel Mugs and a travel tote bag.The winner will also be an automatic Preferred Qualifier for the 2017 World Food Championships in Orange Beach, AL in November 2017 with $1300 of fees & travel expenses covered: the registration fee will be covered by Door County Coffee and a stipend to help cover travel expenses will be provided upon arrival at the competition. 2017 LEGENDARY LENTIL COOK-OFF

DEADLINE

June 19, 2017

DESCRIPTION

Submit your unique recipes containing at least ½ cup raw USA lentils, 1 cup cooked USA lentils, and/or 1 cup lentil flour along with a corresponding photo of the dish. You must be able to complete cooking of the recipe in 2 hours. Do not use more than 15 ingredients, not including salt, pepper or an oiled pan in the count.
This year is the 29th Annual National Lentil Festival. Five finalists will be invited to come to Pullman, WA to compete in a cook-off and enjoy the Festival August 18-19, 2017.

ELIGIBILITY

Must be age 21 or older. No residency restrictions are stated.

PRIZES

 Finalist Prizes: Official National Lentil Festival aprons; honored guest status at the Lentil Festival, including the Lentil Pancake Breakfast; $50 for purchasing ingredients for the cook-off; and hotel accommodations for 2 nights and airfare reimbursement (within continental US only), if needed. Finalists must arrange their own travel arrangements.
Grand Prize: A chef’s hat for "lentil lovers" and $2,000.
Second Prize: $1000.
Third Prize: $500.
People's Choice Prize: $100.

NATIONAL BANANA PUDDING COOK-OFF 2017

DEADLINE

August 7, 2017

DESCRIPTION

Enter your unique recipe for banana pudding. It should be sized to produce a 2-quart pudding. Recipes using a microwave oven will not be considered.
Ten finalists will compete at the Cook-Off in Centerville, TN on October 7, 2017. Finalists will be required to make two 2-quart puddings — one in a dish of their own choosing (to be judged) and one in a provided stoneware "Puddin' Pot" (for a fund-raising auction). Transportation is the responsibility of the finalists, as are all groceries and kitchen equipment (except a stove) needed by the finalists for recipe preparation at the festival.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC who are age 18 or older. Previous Legendary Lentil Cook-off contest winners (first, second and third place) are ineligible to enter for three full years (e.g. the winners of the 2017 Cook-off will not be eligible to enter until the call for recipes for the 2021 Cook-off).

PRIZES

First Prize: $2,000 (cash).
Second Prize: $500 (cash).
Third Prize: $100 (cash).
10 Finalist Prizes: Lodging for October 6, 2017 is provided.
