Some of these contests are open to amateurs but do not prohibit professionals from entering in their rules. For many, entrants must be employed by a culinary institution, restaurant or foodservice organization in order to qualify.

Create a unique cocktail or a twist on a classic containing a minimum of 25ml of a Drambuie. Submit an image, GIF or short video (no more than 30 seconds) that shows your cocktail entry and post it to Instagram with copy that describes the inspiration and details the recipe. PILLSBURY/BETTY CROCKER BAKE IT POSSIBLE CONTEST

DEADLINE

December 25, 2017

DESCRIPTION

Create an original recipe using at least one complete participating Pillsbury or Betty Crocker baking product available in Canada. The recipe must be simple, and must take no more than 60 minutes to prepare including chopping, mixing, stirring (frequently or occasionally), baking, and cooking time. Cooling or chilling time after the entire recipe has been prepared is not counted toward the time limit. Submit a photo of the prepared item and the name of the recipe, and if entering via Twitter, Instagram, or Google Plus, also include the hashtag #BakeItPossible.
Fifty semi-finalists will be asked to submit their recipes, and from these, ten finalists will be chosen to compete in a bake-off.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority.

PRIZES

10 Finalist Prizes: A trip to the greater Toronto area to compete for cash and possible merchandise prizes. Trip includes round-trip coach air transportation, hotel accommodations for two nights at a hotel of General Mills’ choice, and daily meals or a per diem amount for daily meals (ARV $1,200 CDN).
Grand Prize: $10,000 cash prize. The Grand Prize Winner may be required to make additional promotional appearances up to 1 year after the Grand Prize Winner announcement. Method of travel and accommodations for such appearances shall be chosen by General Mills and at its expense.

STATEN ISLAND ADVANCE 2018 COOKBOOK CONTEST

March 12, 2018

DESCRIPTION

The format for this annual contest has changed again this year. This year there are four categories: Appetizers; Entrées; Desserts; and Nostalgia (for this category, include memories behind a dish, and perhaps the image of the originating cook). Submit all recipes with a photo of the finished dish. 
Six food recipe finalists and and one drink recipe finalist from each category will be asked to bring their prepared recipe to the annual taste-off. The final judging event will be held at The Hilton Garden Inn on April 8, 2018.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of New York and New Jersey who are age 18 or older.

PRIZES

Grand Prize: $1500.
Runner-up Prize: $500.
